Alice Coar, 83, formerly of Ward Street, Dunmore, died Monday afternoon at Linwood Nursing and Rehab Center. Her husband, George J. Coar, died May 18, 2005.
Born in Scranton, daughter of the late William and Ann Stanko Dunkailo, she was a graduate of West Scranton High School and was employed in the garment industry before retirement. She resided in Dunmore for the past 55 years. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, Dunmore, and a former member of All Saints Church.
Her enjoyment in life was being with her family, and making crafts and playing cards with her family and friends.
Surviving are a daughter, Ann and husband, Richard Brunori, Peckville; a son, Dr. George R. and wife, Rosemary Coar, Larksville; four grandchildren, Carissa and Maria Brunori, Robert and Ann Marie Coar; two sisters, Ann E. DeFelice, Thornhurst; and Louise Zinsky, Throop; a brother, Nicholas Dunkailo, Scranton; nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Plishka; and six brothers, Harry, Michael, Peter, Walter, William and John Dunkailo.
The funeral will be Friday at 9 a.m. from the John F. Glinsky Funeral Home, 445 Sanderson St., Throop, with Mass at 9:30 in St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church, Dunmore. Interment, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.
