Ann E. Kendricks McGowan, 54, a resident of Scranton, died Saturday in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
She was born in Columbia, Miss., the daughter of the late Aleca Peters and Stella Kendricks. She was employed by the University of Scranton.
Surviving are her children, Willie Kendricks, Blakely; Angela Kendricks, Columbia; Marquita McGowan, Scranton; Sountana McGowan, Scranton; and Paul McGowan Jr., Scranton; six sisters, Jessie M. King and husband, James, Scranton; Gladys Kendricks, Scranton; Lashandra Peters, Columbia; Donzella Watts and husband, Michael, Columbia; Dolores Theodore and husband, Lionel, New Orleans; and Kathy Collins and husband, Kevin, New Orleans; five brothers, Robert Kendricks and wife, Susan, Scranton; Aleca Kendricks and wife, Coleen, Columbia; Eddie Kendricks, Scranton; Samuel Kendricks, Scranton; and Kevin Peters and wife, Kisla, Columbia; 13 grandchildren; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was also preceded in death by three children, Shawanda Kendricks, Paula McGowan and John Kendricks; a brother, Johnny Ray Kendricks; a sister, Bertha Lee Kendricks; and grandparents, Bob Kendricks and Brook Lee Kendricks.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 4 p.m. in Bethel A.M.E. Church, 714-716 N. Washington Ave., Scranton. Interment will be private for the family in Dunmore Cemetery.
The viewing will be Friday, 6 to 9 p.m., in the Miller Bean Funeral Home Inc., 436 Cedar Ave., Scranton.
