Ann Mando Ambrose of Taylor died Monday morning at Geisinger Community Medical Center. Her husband, Joseph "Chick," died Dec. 26, 2006.
Born in New York City, March 13, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Agnes Waverka Mando Praschak. Before retirement, Ann worked for Golden Technology, retiring at the age of 80, and was a parishioner of Divine Mercy Parish.
Ann enjoyed bingo, going to the casino, baking and reading, but most of all, her family was the center of her life — especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ann had many dear friends and great neighbors.
The family would like to express its deepest gratitude to the staff of Mountain View Care Center for the care and concern they gave their mother.
Surviving are her children, Joseph Jr., Michael J. and wife, Judy; Nancy Holovack and Tina Delasandro, all of Taylor; Robert and Kenny, Las Vegas; Joan Bubnis and husband, Peter, Elysburg; and Rose Opiela, Carbondale; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Roberta Cortese and husband, Lebro, Old Forge; and Lexie Stacknick and husband, Bob, Dickson City; a brother, Ronald Mando and wife, Mary Ann, Scranton; aunts, nieces and nephews.
Two brothers, Michael and Richard; and a sister, Jean Petrilli, also preceded her in death.
The funeral will be Thursday at 9:30 a.m. from the Semian Funeral Home, 704 Union St., Taylor, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in Divine Mercy Parish, 312 Davis St., Scranton, by the Rev. Francis Pauselli. Friends may call Wednesday 4 to 7 p.m.
