Ann Pinto Cianfichi Jones, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away Monday, December 31, 2012, at the Jewish Home in Scranton.
She was a lifelong employee of Toni Styles Dress Mfg. Co. and a 50-year member of Our Night Out Pinochle Club, where she made many friends. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church until its closing, and of Mary, Mother of God Parish.
There was never an idle moment in Ann's life. She was a wonderful cook. Her sauce, cookies, pies and weekly loaves of bread were shared by many. Her busy hands, always crocheting, made hundreds of afghans, blankets, Christmas stockings and christening outfits for family, friends and neighbors, until macular degeneration took her sight.
Though we miss her, she will always be with us through the lessons she taught and the example she set.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Jewish Home and Compassionate Care Hospice for their excellent care of our mother.
She is survived by daughter, Kathleen White (Ashton) Venice, Fla.; sons, Robert H. Jones of Elizabeth, Colo.; John T. Jones (Carolyn) Bath, N.Y.; sister, Helen Albright, Scranton; daughter-in-law, Candace Cianni, Lake Winola, Pa.; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and their extended families.
Ann was preceded in death by husbands, Dominick Cianfichi and Robert H. Jones; son, Dr. Ronald J. Cianni; three brothers and five sisters.
The funeral will be conducted on Monday from the Patrick F. Guido Funeral Home, 120 S. Main Ave., Scranton, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Mary, Mother of God Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 316 William St., Scranton. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery.
Friends may call Monday in the funeral home from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Jewish Home, 1101 Vine Street, Scranton, PA 18510. Please visit www.patrick guidofuneralhome.com
