Ann Zinsky, 81, of Olyphant, died Friday afternoon in the ICU at Geisinger Community Medical Center.
Born in Olyphant, daughter of the late Mary Beckage Zinskie and Harry Zinskie, she was a member of SS. Cyril & Methodius Ukrainian Catholic Church, Olyphant, and a graduate of Olyphant High School. Before retirement, she was employed as a bookkeeper at Wilson H. Flock Insurance, Wyoming.
Ann loved playing cards, reading Danielle Steel books and playing second mother to her local nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Her passion in life was buying jewelry from the Home Shopping Network.
The family would like to acknowledge the loving care and attention she received in the ICU of Geisinger Community Medical Center and her niece, Holly Zinskie, who also works in the unit.
Also surviving are her sister-in-law, Charlene Zinskie; and nephew and caregiver, Andrew Zinskie, with whom she resided; local nieces, Julianne Calabro and husband, Brian; and Deborah Andzulis and husband, Dave; nephews, Harry Zinskie and wife, Kathleen; and Mark Zinskie and wife, Holly; as well as numerous other nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her brothers, William Zinsky, New Jersey; and Joseph Zinskie Sr. and wife, Wilma, Georgia.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Helen; and brothers, Harry, Peter, Paul and John; as well as infant brother and sister, Michael and Mary.
The funeral will be Monday at 9:30 a.m. from the John J. Turko & Sons Funeral Home, 404 Susquehanna Ave., Olyphant, with Divine Liturgy at 10 at SS. Cyril & Methodius Church, 135 River St., Olyphant, to be celebrated by the Rev. Nestor Iwasiw, pastor. Interment, parish cemetery, Peckville.
