Annette M. Jeremiah of West Scranton died Friday at VNA Hospice Inpatient Unit at Geisinger Community Medical Center. She was the widow of James Jeremiah, who died June 27, 1989.
Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Edward R. and Anna Furnari Parola, she was educated in Scranton schools. Before her retirement, she was employed by the Scranton School for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children in food service. She was an avid reader and a great cook; she loved spending time with her entire family, and her granddaughter was her pride and joy. She was loved and will be missed by all that knew her. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Lee Ann Jeremiah Cali; and Jennifer Jeremiah Strein and husband, George; and a granddaughter, Courtney Strein, all of Pittston; several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Karl S. Parola.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church, 1403 Jackson St., Scranton. Interment will follow at Cathedral Cemetery.
