Anthony V. Frizziola

Anthony V. Frizziola, a resident of Peckville, died Wednesday morning at Staten Island University-North Hospital. He was the widower of Joan McDonnell Dziki Frizziola, who died April 25, 2014. They were married on Sept. 11, 1945.

Born in Manhattan, son of the late Vincent and Philomena Prato Frizziola, he was educated in Fort Hamilton schools in Brooklyn. He was retired from the U.S. government as a postal carrier, and was an Army veteran of World War II. Anthony was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Peckville, the American Legion Raymond Henry Post 327, Olyphant and was a Knight of Columbus 4th Degree, Christopher Council 4257 in Brooklyn.

Surviving are daughters, Donna Mondi and husband, Frank, Staten Island; and Doreen DiStefano and husband, Anthony, Peckville; two grandchildren, Joseph Mondi and wife, Tuesday; and Lauren Mondi; great-grandchildren, Jake, Madison and Christopher Mondi; nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Ambrose Frizziola.

The funeral will be Saturday from the Louis J. Rapoch Funeral Home, 420 Church St., Archbald, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Willow Street, Peckville. Entombment, St. Mary of the Visitation Cemetery, Dickson City.
