Antoinette R. Tomsky, 89, of Carbondale, died Sunday at the Carbondale Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center after an illness. She was the wife of the late Stephen J. Tomsky.
Born in Carbondale, daughter of the late Gaetano and Philomena Molinaro Palmiero, she was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Carbondale. She was a former member of VFW
organizations in Maryland and Carbondale.
The family extends its sincere appreciation to her caregiver and special friend, Patty Hopkins, and the staff at the Carbondale Nursing Home and Hospice of the Sacred Heart.
Surviving are two sons, Stephen A. Tomsky and wife, Mary Lou, Greenfield Twp.; and John P. Tomsky, Maryland; a daughter, Mary Ann Dominguez and husband, Martin, Virginia; a brother, Phillip Palmiero and wife, Regina, New York; a sister-in-law, Joan Palmiero; five grandchildren, Stephanie Shockey, Suzanne Lynn Tomsky, Jason, Jacob and Christina Dominguez; two great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Rose Shockey and Alexandra Lynn Shockey; several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Stephen David Tomsky; two sisters, Marie Gravine and Ann Palmiero; and five brothers, Louis, James, Albert, John and Benny Palmiero.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated today at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Carbondale. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill.
