Audrey J. Jones, 80, a lifelong resident of Scranton, died Friday in the VNA Hospice Inpatient Unit at Geisinger Community Medical Center after a brief illness. She was the widow of Edison David Jones, who died Oct. 4, 1994.
She was born in Scranton, the daughter of the late Frederick W. and Margaret Jones Tomlinson. She was employed by Gold Star Manufacturing and retired from Supermarket Services.
Surviving are two sons, David E. Jones and wife, Laura, Scranton; and Richard M. Jones and wife, Linda, Scranton; seven grandchildren, Victoria Hartsgrove and husband, Michael, Scranton; Michael Jones and wife, Arielle, Old Forge; Rebecca Jones, Scranton; Jeffrey Jones, Scranton; Christine Falbo and husband, Fred, Scranton; Elizabeth Bowen and husband, Dustin, Dunmore; and Kathleen Jones, Scranton; six great-grandchildren, Celese, Amelia, Alex, Breana, Zayden and David; a brother, Robert Tomlinson, Moosic; two step-brothers, Patrick Tomlinson, Scranton; and Daniel Tomlinson, Scranton; two step-sisters, Donna Hopkins, Scranton; and Dorothy Lubanich, Hamburg; many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Jonathan Jones; a sister, Ruth Charles; and three brothers, Michael Tomlinson, William Tomlinson and Paul Tomlinson.
Friends may call Wednesday from 10 a.m. to noon in the Miller Bean Funeral Home Inc., 436 Cedar Ave., Scranton. Interment will follow in Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.
