Barbara J. Dworshock

Barbara J. Dworshock of South Abington Twp. died Friday morning at the VNA Hospice Unit at Geisinger Community Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Dworshock Jr.

Born in Nanticoke, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Bertha Zima Lupco. Before retirement, she was a telephone operator for the former Community Medical Center and for the Bell Telephone Co. She was a member of the Retired Bell Telephone Employees Association.

Barbara was a very courageous woman who accepted life's challenges and always enjoyed the Christmas season, crossword puzzles, working on her computer and taking online courses. Her greatest joy was being surrounded by her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are a daughter, Michele Keating and husband, Robert, of South Abington Twp.; two grandsons, Jeremy Keating, Reading; and Christopher Keating and wife, Lauren, Broomall; and two great-grandchildren, Ryan and Allie Keating.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Marion Miceli; and a brother, Carl Lupco.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Snows, 301 S. State St., Clarks Summit. Interment will follow in the Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.

Friends may call Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.
