Bernard Gardus

Bernard Gardus of Whites Crossing died Friday at the Carbondale Nursing Home.

Born in Whites Crossing, son of the late Anthony and Anna Falong Gardus, he was an Army veteran.

He is survived by two brothers, Francis, Carbondale; and John, Whites Crossing; four sisters, Anna Sutor, Waymart; Sophie Hayzer, Garfield, N.J.; Monica Wanas, Carbondale; and Melanie Lee, Dickson City; and many nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Anthony, who died Tuesday; and Joseph; and three sisters, Pauline, Martha and Lucille.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Michael's Church, 46 Midland St., Simpson. Interment will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Joseph W. Scotchlas Funeral Home Inc., Simpson.
