Caesar J. Burti Jr., 78, of Taylor, died Sunday at Commonwealth Hospice, Scranton. His wife of 59 years is the former Loretta Salerno.
He was born in Old Forge, son of the late Ceaser J. and Anna String Burti. A graduate of Old Forge High School, class of 1952, and Williamsport Technical Institute, he worked as a mechanic for the Chamberlain Corp. for 44 years.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and staff of Scranton Regional Hospital who cared for him during his hospital stay and a special thank you to Dr. Anthony Perry and Dr. John Kutz and friends, Joe and Cindy Strenkowski; and Michael and Jeanette Kapuscinski.
Also surviving are a son, Neil and daughter-in-law, Rose Burti, Old Forge; daughter-in-law, Nanette Burti, Dalton; a brother, Carmen Burti and wife, Joyce, Memphis, Tenn.; a sister, Gloria Burti, Old Forge; grandchildren, Neil Jr. and wife, Jessy, Marlton, N.J., Allison Burti McGoff and husband, Mike, Scranton; and Scott Burti and wife, April, Old Forge; nine great-grandchildren, Caden, Cameron, Chloe and Cooper Burti of Marlton; and Cole, Gabby, Bella, Ceasar and Gino Burti of Old Forge; aunt and cousins.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Mark Burti. After his family, the other "love of his life" was his Yorkie, Lexi, his "Pumpkin Pie."
