Carmen J. Sottile Jr., West Scranton, was called home to be with his heavenly father on Wednesday afternoon in the Regional Hospital of Scranton.
Born in Scranton, son of the late Carmen Sr. and Grace Campo Sottile, he was educated in Scranton schools and was a graduate of West Scranton High School. Before his illness, he was employed in the local Scranton area. He was a member of St. Ann's Basilica, West Scranton.
He enjoyed going to car shows, movies and casinos with his best friend, Anthony Marinucci. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him and loved him, especially his sister, Mary Anne Sottile, his primary caregiver.
Carmen's family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Charles Bannon and staff for the excellent care and compassion given to Carmen. Also a special thank you to Rev. Fran of St. Ann's Basilica, West Scranton.
Surviving are one sister, Mary Anne Sottile, with whom he resided, and companion, Anthony Marinucci, Scranton; an uncle, James Campo, Clarks Summit; and many cousins.
The funeral will be Saturday from the Carl J. Savino Funeral Home, 157 S. Main Ave., West Scranton. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. in St. Ann's Basilica, St. Ann's St., Scranton. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery.
