Carol Garrett Hancock

Carol Garrett Hancock, 68, of West Pittston, died Saturday. Her husband, William Hancock, died Jan. 25, 2012.

Born in West Pittston on March 12, 1945, she was the daughter of the late David and Elizabeth Huddleson Garrett. Before its closing, Carol was a member of Luzerne Avenue Baptist Church and was a graduate of West Pittston High School. For many years, Carol was employed as a secretary, working for Sordoni Construction and Ettore Lippie. Carol enjoyed being with her family and friends, and loved to shop QVC. She enjoyed reading and listening to music and working with her hands; she excelled in crocheting. Carol will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Surviving are a son, William and wife, LuAnn, West Pittston; a daughter, Sandra Minella and husband, Ralph, Pittston; a granddaughter, Sarah Minella; a sister, Shirley Miller, Duryea; and two nephews, Gary and Glen Miller.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Betty Garrett.
