Carolyn J. Beynon, 70, of Moscow, died Wednesday night in Regional Hospital of Scranton's emergency room. She was the wife of David W. Beynon Jr. The couple celebrated 50 years of marriage on Aug. 17.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Ursula Valenzano Davitt and the granddaughter of the late Michael and Julia Valenzano. She was a graduate of Dunmore High School and was employed by the Scranton Counseling Center, Scranton.
She enjoyed cooking and baking, and especially enjoyed bringing treats into work to share with her co-workers. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Also surviving are sons, Michael David Beynon and wife, Michele, Massachusetts; and Marc Alan Beynon, Fort Covington, N.Y.; a sister, Bernadette Rozelli and husband, Russ, Dickson City; brothers, Leo Davitt and wife, Janette, Jessup; Philip Davitt and wife, Rose; and Stephen Davitt and wife, Michelle, all of Dickson City; and David Davitt and wife, Laura, Jessup; grandchildren, Evan Smith, and Carl and Heather DeCesar; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was also preceded in death by an infant son, David; and brothers, Richard and Michael Davitt.
The funeral will be Monday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with a service at 10 a.m. Interment, Milwaukee Cemetery, Clarks Summit.
