Catherine T. Wright, 88, of South Scranton, died Monday at Mountain View Care Center after a brief illness. Her husband, Charles L. Wright, died in 1989.
Born in Pottsville, daughter of the late Monsignor John and Mary Czarick Koval, Catherine was a member of Divine Mercy Parish at St. Joseph's Church, Minooka section of Scranton, and a graduate of Hazleton High School.
Catherine's spirit and unconditional love will live on in her six children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. God blessed us with the wonderful gift of her life. Although there were many of us, mom had the ability to make each one very special to her. She will be deeply missed but always fondly remembered by her family and friends.
She is survived by five daughters, Ann Marie Fonash and husband, Stephen, Montdale; Barbara Wright and husband, James, Nicholson; Theresa Conrad and husband, Fred, South Gibson; Patricia Wright, Easton; and Nanci Wright, Minooka; a son, Charles J. Wright, Scranton; a brother, Dr. Eugene Koval and wife, Dolores, Sarasota, Fla.; 18 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Anthony Wright; a sister, Mary Ann Ambrose; and two brothers, Dr. John Koval and the Rev. Anthony Koval.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, 312 Davis St., Scranton, by the Rev. Francis Pauselli, pastor. Interment will be private.
