Cecelia Irene Jones, 88, of Tyler Hill, died Saturday at Wayne Woodlands Manor, Waymart. She was preceded in death by her husband, retired Sgt. Homer Benjamin Jones of the Pennsylvania State Police, on June 23, 2005. The couple married on June 7, 1952.
Born May 17, 1926, daughter and last surviving member of the Joseph and Anna Fotta Ravina family, she was a graduate of Freeland High School and became a beautician. After marrying her husband, she focused on raising her family, being a housewife and mother.
Before moving to Tyler Hill, Cecelia was a member of the Mount Pocono United Methodist Church and for the past eight years, was a member of the First Baptist Church of Damascus. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Stroudsburg and Harrick Green Chapter 198.
Surviving are her daughters, Linda Jones Dooley and husband, Frank, Tyler Hill; and Carolyn Jones Gregorski and husband, Paul, Lake Ariel; her grandchildren, Megan Fuller, Jillian Pruitt, Lauren Hargraves, Corinne Wickline and Paul Gregorski II; 12 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Damascus, 1678 River Road. Interment, Keokee Cemetery, Paradise Twp.
The family will receive friends in the church from 12:30 to service time. Arrangements by Hessling Funeral Home Inc., 428 Main St., Honesdale.
