Charles H. Wickizer of Scranton died Saturday at Geisinger Community Medical Center. His wife is the former Shirley Weber. The couple celebrated 44 years of marriage on Aug. 23.
Born in Taylor, son of the late Harold and Grace Weathers Wickizer, he was a member of Berean Church. He was a veteran of the Army
National Guard, and a volunteer firefighter
with the Duryea Fire Company for 25 years. Charles was employed by Brooks Pants, Gress Poultry and Allied Services.
Charles enjoyed his trips to the local casinos. He was a loving and caring husband, brother and uncle who will be deeply missed.
Also surviving are a sister, Margarite Wickizer, Ashley; three nieces, Linda Sawako, Scranton; Barbara Sandrowicz, Scranton; and Karen Dolan, Olyphant; and a nephew, Ronnie Wickizer, Ashley.
He was preceded in death by a brother, David Wickizer; and a sister, Joan Noakes.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Davies & Jones Funeral Chapel, 135 S. Main Ave., Scranton, with services by the Rev. James Buchanan, pastor of Berean Church. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
Friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m.
