Chester J. Bielovitz

Chester J. Bielovitz of North Scranton died Friday in Geisinger Community Medical Center after an illness. He and his wife, the former Janet Goodrich, would have celebrated their 48th anniversary on Feb. 12.

Born in Scranton, son of the late Chester and Elsie Paswinski Bielovitz, he was a lifelong resident of the city, educated in the Scranton school system and worked for almost 30 years at Thomson Consumer Electronics before retirement. He was a member of the electrical workers union.

He was a man of quiet and pure faith. He attended both Holy Rosary and Providence Methodist churches. Chet was an avid golfer, even playing against Tiger Woods on his Playstation. He was the most fervent of all Eagles fans, but on Mondays after a Sunday game, his most-often quote when at work was "PITIFUL." He loved his trips to Myrtle Beach and Virginia to visit his beloved granddaughter, Julia.

The family would like to thank Dr. Michael Montella for his care, interspersed with golf chats; and Gentiva, especially Diane and Brandi; also neighbors Helen and Bill Cook for their moral and physical support.

Also surviving are a daughter, Suzanne and husband, David Visoski, Scranton; two sons, "C" Kirk "Butch" Bielovitz and wife, Michelle, King George, Va.; and Jeremy R. Bielovitz, Scranton; granddaughter, Julia, King George; two brothers, Donald and wife, Maron, Elmhurst; and Robert and wife, Gail, Columbia, N.J.; a sister, Gloria Nelson and husband, Neil, Georgia; two nephews, Ronald Rostalski, Harrisburg; and Ryan Bielovitz, Jefferson Twp.; two nieces, Danielle Rostalski Brier, Camp Hill; and Bonnie Bielovitz Youshock, Spring Brook Twp.; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ronald and Gale Rostalski, Enola.

The funeral will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Bomberger-Lesko Funeral Home Inc., 1660 N. Main Ave., Scranton, with services by the Rev. Arthur Davis. Interment, Dunmore Cemetery.
