Claire Louise Blum, 66, Dunmore, died Friday in Geisinger-Community Medical Center. She was the wife of Jerome M. Blum.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Louise Scott Sullivan. She was a graduate of Dunmore High School and had been employed as a legal secretary in the law office of attorney Joseph F. Gaughan, Scranton, and at Kathy Karen Children's Shop, Dunmore.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt whose true enjoyment was her family. For many years Claire was dedicated to helping those who were afflicted by addiction.
Also surviving are two daughters, Jane Vitali, Newton-Ransom; and Julie Manley, Clarks Summit; a son, James Tolan, Allentown; six grandchildren, Jerome Manley and wife, Nicole; John and Jacob Manley; Mia Vitali, Louis Vitali III and Kayla Tolan; very close family, including, John Manley, Bob Lundberg, Denise Gibbs and Louise Scotch; two sisters, Frances Sullivan, Pittston; and Patricia Runco and husband, Anthony, Utah; several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a niece, Erin Dermody; and a son-in-law, Louis Vitali Jr.
The funeral will be Thursday with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church, Chestnut Street, Dunmore. Interment in Cathedral Cemetery. All those attending are asked to go directly to church.
Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore.
