Claire M. Egan, 92, of Scranton, died Tuesday at Green Ridge Health Care Center after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of William J. Egan, who died in 1966.
Born in Dunmore, daughter of the late Harold and Loretta Moran Bradican, she was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School and a member of St. Paul's/St. Clare's Parish. Before retirement, she was employed at Penn Security Bank, East Scranton branch.
Claire was widowed at a young age but her deep faith in God and commitment to her family enabled her to raise her three children and be an important positive influence in her grandchildren's lives. Her ever-present smile, welcoming nature and kindness endeared her to everyone. Claire will be deeply missed but always fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by a son, William Egan Sr. and companion, Sally Walsh, Scranton; 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, Donald Gaynor "Ike" Egan and attorney Leo McCormack, both of Scranton; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Joan E. Holmes; a son, Robert Egan; two brothers, John Bradican and attorney William Bradican; two sisters, Elizabeth Foley and Jeanne McCormack; a sister-in-law, Jane Bradican; and a daughter in-law, Judy Egan.
The funeral will be Saturday from the Neil W. Regan Funeral Home Inc., 1900 Pittston Ave., Scranton, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Paul's Church, 1510 Penn Ave., Scranton, to be celebrated by Monsignor William Feldcamp, pastor. Interment, St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow.
Friends may call Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. The family asks that those attending the funeral on Saturday proceed directly to the church.
