Clara H. Sherosick, loving wife of John J. Sherosick of Browndale, died peacefully at home Saturday, May 3, 2014. Clara and John would have celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on May 12.
A gentle, loving woman, mother and grandmother, Clara adored her granddaughter, Katelyn Rolley, with whom she spent many wonderful weekends recently while Katelyn attended college in Northeastern Pa.
Also surviving are her beloved daughter, Pam, and -son-in-law, Bob Rolley, Lock Haven, Pa.; a sister, Wanda Hlavaty, Allentown; several nieces and nephews; and special caregivers, Sandy and Tony Ravnikar and Marie Britton.
She was predeceased by a sister, Edna; and two brothers, Walter and Joseph.
Born May 26, 1929, in Carbondale, she was the daughter of late Joseph and Josephine Spizany Slavinski. After graduating from Mayfield High School in 1946, Clara worked at Western Electric in Allentown. Upon marrying the love of her life, John and Clara moved to Montoursville, where John was assigned as a Pennsylvania state trooper at Troop F. They lived in a modest home on Cherry Street, and made many lifelong friends.
Clara worked at the former Sylvania Electric in Williamsport for many years, after raising her daughter. John and Clara retired in 1986, and moved back to Northeastern Pa.
In Montoursville, they were members of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and then Ascension Parish in Forest City.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. from the Jones & Brennan Funeral Home, 430 Main St., Forest City, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, Delaware Street, Forest City, to be celebrated by the Rev. Patrick Albert, pastor. Interment, St. Joseph's Cemetery, Forest City.
Visitation will be held Tuesday at the funeral home from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.
