Clara Noble, 93, a resident of the Green Ridge Health Care Center in Scranton, died Thursday morning after an illness. She was the widow of Clarence Noble, who died in 1975.
Born June 14, 1919, in Dalton, daughter of the late Carl Sr. and Mae Hall Reider, she was educated in Dalton schools and was employed in the textile manufacturing industry for many years. She was a member of the Scranton Senior Center and a former member of the Hyde Park Presbyterian Church.
Clara loved to crochet and was an avid bingo player.
Clara's family would like to thank the staff and management at the Green Ridge Health Care Center and to Celtic Hospice for their wonderful care and compassion.
Surviving are three daughters, Shirley Loyek, Wopwallepan; JoAnn Englert, Lake Ariel; and Carol Covington, Murfreesboro, Tenn.; three sons, Thomas Noble, Scranton; Albert Noble and Clarence Noble Jr., both of DeFuniak, Fla.; 23 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by two sons, Robert L. and Daniel A. Noble; a grandson, David Englert; four brothers, Richard, Carl, David and Kenneth; and a sister, Anna Mae Carey.
The funeral Saturday will be private in the Howard J. Snowdon Funeral Home, 1810 Sanderson Ave., Scranton, with the Rev. Arthur W. Davis as officiating clergy. Interment, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.
