Daniel F. Panasuck

Daniel F. Panasuck, 81, of Dunmore, died Monday evening at Regional Hospital of Scranton. He and his wife, the former Carmel Gallo, would have celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary on June 28.

Son of the late Samuel and Eva Panasuck, he was a graduate of Scranton Central High School class of 1951, a member of SS. Anthony and Rocco Parish in Dunmore and an Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. Before retirement, he was employed by Spotless Cleaners in Dunmore for more than 30 years.

His hobbies included bowling and he had participated in the former St. Anthony's Church League for many years. He loved all sports and would watch or attend just about any type of sporting event. He especially enjoyed following the Philadelphia Phillies, Dunmore Bucks, Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Kentucky Wildcats.

Daniel will be most remembered for being a loving husband, father and grandfather who was entirely devoted to his family.

His family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Gino J. Merli Veteran Center for the wonderful care he received during his stay with them.

Also surviving are two daughters, Suzanne Furey and Carol Ann DeAngelo, both of Dunmore; four grandchildren, Melissa Keating and her husband, Thomas, Elmhurst Twp.; Rebecca DeAngelo, Dunmore; Lisa D. Lamb and her husband, John, Philadelphia; and Jenna Furey, Dunmore; and a nephew, Frank Karvan.

He was also preceded in death by five brothers, Bernard, Stanley, Joseph, Martin and Edward Karvan; and a nephew, James Karvan.

The funeral will be Thursday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Smith Street, Dunmore. Interment will follow Mass in St. Michael's Cemetery, Dunmore.
