Daniel J. Cicchillo, 67, a longtime resident of Scranton, died Tuesday evening at Regional Hospital of Scranton. He and his wife, the former Mary Therese McGrail, celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary on Nov. 18.
Born in Dunmore, son of the late Joseph A. and Rose Summa Cicchillo, he was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Church, now St. John Neumann Parish. He was a lifelong member and active with the Amalgamated Workers Union. He was active with the Cub Scout Pack 16, the Quiet Man Society and the Rome Toccolana Club, Dunmore. Before retirement, he had been employed as a tailor by Goldstar Manufacturing.
He was a happy guy who loved life and lived it to the fullest.
Also surviving are two sons, Joseph A. Cicchillo and his wife, Cynthia, Williamsport; and James F. Cicchillo, Scranton; a daughter, Noelle Cicchillo, Scranton; a grandson, Nicholas Cicchillo, Williamsport; a sister, Donna Haynos and her husband, Lenny, Olyphant; nieces, nephews, cousins and an aunt.
The funeral will be Saturday at 9 a.m. from the Miller Bean Funeral Home Inc., 436 Cedar Ave., Scranton, with Mass at 9:30 a.m. in the Nativity of Our Lord Church, 633 Orchard St,, Scranton. Interment will follow in Dunmore Cemetery.
