Dennis "Chief" Davison, 64, of Scott Twp., died Thursday at Regional Hospital of Scranton. His wife was the former Donna Cook, who died in 2003.
Born and raised in Clifford, he was the son of the late Wilfred and Margaret Davison. After getting married in 1973, he moved to Scott Twp. Dennis attended Scott Twp. High School and then entered the Marine Corps, serving his country during the Vietnam War
. Upon returning, he transferred to the Army Reserve and retired after 20 years of service as a senior master sergeant. He joined the Scott Twp. Police Department in 1976 and retired as chief of police in 2005.
Dennis was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, serving as secretary, a member of the Masonic Lodge, a board member of the Scott Twp. Sewer Authority, a member of Green Grove Grange, a member of the Scott Twp. Memorial Committee, a lifetime member of Shopa-Davey VFW
in Peckville and a member of American Legion Post 624 in Archbald.
He was very patriotic and proud of his country. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, who will be dearly missed.
Surviving are a daughter, Megan Davison and companion, Mike Powers; three brothers, Bill and wife, Arlene; Jack; and Ron and wife, Loretta, all of New Jersey; his best friend whom he considered a brother, Joseph Maus, Eynon; three sisters, Gail and Deanna Davison, New Jersey; and Shirley Smith, Dickson City; and a grandson, Jeffery Davison.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy and Jeffrey Davison; and a sister, Susan Lowry.
The funeral will be Tuesday at the James M. Margotta Funeral Home, 1019 Main St., Peckville, with a blessing service at 7:30 p.m. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
