Diane Davis Marinchak, 60, of West Scranton, died after being stricken ill at home on Monday. Her husband of 31 years is George E. Marinchak.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late William M. and Florence "Flossie" Wallace Davis. A 1970 graduate of West Scranton High School, she was a science graduate of East Stroudsburg University, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. She was a biology teacher at West Scranton High School and was to retire in June. She was a member of Trinity Congregational United Church of Christ, Scranton, the Pennsylvania State Education Association, the Audubon Society, Lackawanna River Heritage Trail and the National Geographic Society.
Diane was a loving wife, mother, friend and dedicated teacher who enjoyed gardening, nature, swimming in the pool with her family and friends and was totally dedicated to her students. She will forever be remembered and missed by her family, friends and students.
She is also survived by sons, Christopher Marinchak and companion, Nicole Rosencrans, Scranton; and Stephen Marinchak, at home; a brother; a close uncle, Richard Lalley, Scranton; mother-in-law, Bernice Marinchak, Scranton; sister-in-law, Loriann Marinchak; a niece, Stephanie Marinchak; two nephews, Michael and Mark Marinchak; additional aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie M. Davis; father-in-law, George E. Marinchak III; and brothers-in-law, Michael and Gary Marinchak.
Viewing for family and friends will be Saturday, 4 to 7:30 p.m., in the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home, 254-268 Railroad Ave., West Scranton, with services at 7:30 p.m. by the Rev.
