Donald P. Jervis

Donald P. Jervis, 77, of Tafton, died Thursday morning at his home on Lake Wallenpaupack after an illness.

Born and raised in Scranton, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Chernesky Jervis. He was a graduate of the Scranton School District and later served in the Navy during the Korean War. Before his retirement, he had been employed as a millwright for Union Local 645 in Scranton.

He is survived by several cousins including his caregiver, Michael Grady of Spring Brook Twp.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Hughes; and a brother, Joseph Jervis Jr.

The funeral will be held Monday with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Mary, Mother of God Parish, 316 William St., Scranton. Interment with military honors, Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton. Those attending the Mass are asked to go directly to the church.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Carmine J. & Louis C. Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., Carbondale.
