Donna Maria Burrier, 49, a lifelong resident of Scranton, died Thursday morning in Geisinger Community Medical Center.
Born in Scranton, daughter of Donald R. Burrier, Scranton; and the late Maria Santoli Burrier, she was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School, class of 1982. She worked as an assistant librarian at the John Adams and George Bancroft elementary schools in Scranton.
She loved taking her dog and sidekick, Molly, everywhere she could, especially to McDade Park. She loved children; she had a heart of gold and will be dearly missed.
She is also survived by a brother, Richard Burrier and wife, Lisa, Scranton; a niece, Brittany Burrier, Avoca; three nephews, Kyle Burrier, Brandon Ulkoski and her "buddy," Christopher Ulkoski, all of Scranton; aunts and uncles, Sally Onofrey, her godmother, Scranton; Millie Brady, Scranton; Kenneth Burrier and wife, Patricia, Moscow; Edward Burrier and wife, Candy, Scranton; and Lois O'Hara and husband, Jack, West Virginia; and many cousins.
She was also preceded in death by maternal grandparents, August and Sara Santoli; paternal grandparents, Thomas and Mildred Burrier; aunts and uncles, Donald Brady, who fondly called her "TU TU;" Thomas Burrier, Richard Burrier, Shirley Burrier and Robert Onofrey.
The funeral will be Monday at 9 a.m. from the Miller Bean Funeral Home Inc., 436 Cedar Ave., with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 in St. Rocco Church, 122 Kurtz St., Dunmore. Interment will be private.
Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m.
