Doris Mary Raub, 87, formerly of Clarks Summit, died Wednesday at the Jewish Home of Eastern Pennsylvania.
Born Aug. 28, 1926, in Wilkes-Barre, daughter of the late William and Stella Sauer Raub, Doris was a graduate of Coughlin High School and Bucknell University. she was the first woman ever to be awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from Bucknell University. Before moving to the Clarks Summit area, she lived in Harrisburg and later in Scranton. She was employed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a civil engineer, where her specialty was designing bridges.
She was also a licensed Real Estate Associate Broker and a faithful member of Our Lady of the Snows Church.
Surviving are three nieces and a nephew, Jane Ellis, Beaufort, N.C.; Jean Giavedoni and husband, Richard, Oakland, N.J.; Lynne Bott and husband, George, Millington, N.J.; and Charles "Chuck" Kenworthy and wife, Cherrie, Shickshinny.
She was also preceded in death by her twin sister, Dorothy Kenworthy.
The funeral will be Saturday with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Snows Church, 301 S. State St., Clarks Summit. Interment, St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Hanover Twp.
The family will receive relatives and friends Saturday from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at the Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Services Inc., 111 Colburn Ave., Clarks Summit.
