Dorothy Fratamico Williams, 88, a resident of South Scranton, died Thursday morning in the Jewish Home of Eastern Pa., after an illness, She was the widow of Donald Williams, who died in 1953.
Born Oct. 28, 1925, in Scranton, daughter of the late Arthur and Margaret Turner Fratamico, she completed the commercial course and graduated from Scranton Technical High School. She also attended the Wharton School. She was a member of St. Paul of the Cross Parish, the South Side Senior Center, the Dunmore Senior Center and the Downtown Senior Center, the After 50 Club and the friendly seniors. Before retirement, she was employed by Great Northern Distributors, formerly Anthracite News Co.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Jewish Home, especially the fourth floor, for all their kindness and compassionate care.
Surviving are a sister, Shirley Gercak, Exeter; two brothers, Frank Fratamico, South Scranton; and Arthur Fratamico and wife, Josephine, Old Forge; nieces and nephews; and her dear friend, Helen Venia, Dunmore.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Beverley Byington; and a brother, Gerald Turner.
The funeral will be Monday at 9:30 a.m. from the Miller Bean Funeral Home Inc., 436 Cedar Ave., Scranton, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 630 Genet St., Scranton. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
