E. Lawrence Bellante

E. Lawrence Bellante, 88, of Clarks Summit, died Saturday morning at Commonwealth Hospice at Regional Hospital of Scranton. His wife is the former Ann Helstrom. The couple had been married for 64 years.

Born in Easton on April 16, 1925, son of the late Santo and Carmella Italiani Bellante, he was veteran of the Air Force during World War II and a graduate of Lehigh University with a degree in architectural engineering. Before retirement, some of his greatest accomplishments were the designing of Giants Stadium, and the restoration of the Statue of Liberty and the Ellis Island Museum.

Also surviving are three sons, John, Carl and David; and a daughter, Susan; three grandchildren, Andrew, Rachel and Morgan; and two great-grandchildren, Evie and Aaron.

Cremation was entrusted to the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home.
