Eileen M. Buzzinski, 88, a lifelong resident of Scranton, died Wednesday morning under the care of Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore. Her husband of 61 years, Chester J. Buzzinski Sr., died Dec. 4, 2007.
Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Charles and Mary Margaret Gothier Naegele, she attended West Scranton High School and was a lifelong member of St. Patrick's Church, Scranton.
Eileen was a devoted mother, and a loving grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family and her home were her main priority. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren were the light of her life. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family would like to offer a special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of Hospice of the Sacred Heart for the wonderful and compassionate care given to Eileen during her stay, and to the kindness extended to them during this difficult time.
Surviving are three sons, Chester J. Buzzinski Jr. and wife, Genia, Old Forge; Gary R. Buzzinski, and wife, Teal, Scranton; and Donald C. Buzzinski and wife, Lynn, Old Forge; a daughter, Jean Noakes, Taylor; a brother, Al Naegele, Throop; grandchildren, Nicole Noakes; Colleen White and husband, Tim; Angela, Lynn, Laura, Pfc. Gary and Aaron Buzzinski, and Michael Giannetti; great-grandchildren, Jade Noakes, Michael Corradino and Michaela White; several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by brothers, Robert, Walter and Paul Naegele.
The funeral will be Saturday at 9 a.m. from the Kevin K. Kearney Funeral Home Inc., 125 N. Main Ave., Scranton, with a 9:30 Mass of Christian Burial in St. Patrick's Church, 1403 Jackson St., Scranton. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
