Elayne Pochaski Dench

Elayne Pochaski Dench, R.N., 74, of Blakely, died Thursday at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton. She is survived by her husband, James Dench.

Born in Eynon, daughter of the late Adam and Eleanor Pochaski, she was a member of St. Mary's Visitation Church, Dickson City. She was a graduate of Dickson City High School, class of 1957, and of the Hahnemann Hospital School of Nursing. She had been employed by the Scranton State General Hospital, Somerset Hospital, Somerset, N.J., and, before retirement, at Mid Valley Hospital for more than 30 years.

Also surviving are a son, attorney Jaime Dench and fiancée, Melissa Speicher; two grandchildren, Lucas and Bella; two sisters, Joyce Bowen and husband, Rick, Dickson City; and Diane Wiktor and husband, Jack, Binghamton, N.Y.; nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City.

There will be no public calling hours.
