Eleanor O. Snyder of North Huntingdon Twp., formerly of Dalton, died Saturday at Baldock Nursing Home in North Huntingdon Twp. She was the wife of Donald L. Snyder, who died in 1984.
Born in Dalton, daughter of the late James E. and Anna J. Albright Parkton, she and her husband owned and operated Don's Restaurant in Downingtown before her retirement. After retiring, she enjoyed living in Holiday, Fla., for 30 years, before moving back to Pennsylvania.
She was a member of Abington Memorial VFW
Post 7069 Ladies Auxiliary and the Holiday Gardens Civic Association in Holiday. She was a Methodist, and recently attended the Pitcairn Assembly of God Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Connie Forbes, Coatesville; and Patsey Oswald and husband, John, North Huntingdon Twp.; a sister, Shirley Cosner, Clarks Summit; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Gesek; two brothers, Wesley and William Parkton; and her first husband, Raymond L. Sherman.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, with services by the Rev. David Martin, pastor of Pitcairn Assembly of God Church.
Interment, Fairlawn Cemetery, Dalton.
