Eleanor C. Sikorski, 87, of Carbondale, died Thursday at Geisinger Community Medical Center, VNA Hospice, after an illness.
Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Stanley and Eleanor Marcinkowski Sikorski, she resided in Carbondale for more than 60 years. For many years, she was a dental hygienist for Dr. John Pilny. Eleanor was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale.
She attended Mass daily and enjoyed spending afternoons with her friends. When at home, she enjoyed crossword puzzles, watching "Jeopardy!" and playing solitaire. Eleanor's family was her life.
Surviving are a sister, Joan Chellino, Carbondale; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Stanley Sikorski; and a sister, Lois Hennan.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. Entombment at Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill.
There are no calling hours. The family will receive friends Saturday at the church from 9 until Mass.
