Elizabeth M. Hoynak

Elizabeth M. Hoynak, 96, of Olyphant, died Saturday at Mid Valley Health Care Center, Peckville.

Born in Olyphant, daughter of the late Simon and Mary Krenitsky Hoynak, she resided in Michigan for more than 35 years before moving back home in 1980. A graduate of Olyphant High School, she received her bachelor's degree from Marywood College and her master's degree from the University of Michigan. She taught at Lincoln Park High School in Michigan for more than 30 years. She was very dedicated to her family and assisted in the care of her mother after her father died.

She is survived by a sister, Rose M. Hoynak, Olyphant; many nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Peter and Stephen Hoynak; and two sisters, Ann Farbanish and Olga Voros.

Private graveside services and burial will be held in St. Andrew's Cemetery, Blakely. Arrangements are under the direction of Hudak-O'Shea Funeral Home Inc., 115 Garfield Ave., Olyphant.
