Ellsworth J. Scott

Ellsworth J. Scott, 79, of Clifton Twp., died Monday afternoon at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton, after being stricken ill at home. His wife is the former Ruth A. Stout. The couple celebrated 59 years of marriage on May 29.

Born March 4, 1933, in Gouldsboro, son of the late Emory and Dorothea Beavers Scott, he was educated in Covington Twp. schools and was an Army veteran, serving from 1953 to 1956. Before retirement, he was employed by Roadway Transportation of Tannersville. He had been previously employed by Ronson Corp. of Stroudsburg for many years.

Also surviving are a son, Keith J. Scott and wife, Linda, Thornhurst Twp.; a sister, Barbara Stanton and husband, Edwin, Coolbaugh Twp.; three grandchildren, Amanda M. Scott, Bryan J. Scott and Benjamin D. Scott; several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by six brothers, Edwin, Merritt, Herman, Dwight, Ellis Gene and Benjamin Scott; and a sister, Beatrice Madigan.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Duffy & Snowdon Funeral Home, 401 Church St., Moscow, with the Rev. Ronald Onder as officiating clergy. Interment, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst Twp.
