Elsie Bonacci Zitterman

Elsie Bonacci Zitterman, 79, of Carbondale, died Tuesday afternoon at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton.

Born in Carbondale, daughter of the late Nicholas and Catherine Molinaro Bonacci, she was retired from the Gentex Corp. in Carbondale and was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Carbondale, and its Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a member of the former Marian Community Hospital Auxiliary in Carbondale.

She enjoyed Sunday afternoon card games with her family and she was a loving mother, sister, aunt and friend who will be dearly missed.

She is survived by a son, Jerry Zitterman, Mays Landing, N.J.; a sister, Lucille Bonacci, Baltimore; several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Judy VanBuren; seven brothers, Louis, Eugene, Philip, Nicholas, Anthony, Salvatore and baby Peter Bonacci; and six sisters, Vera Peregrin, Mary Bone, Josephine Bonacci, Viola Colandro, Clara Rosipko and Rose Kaczmarcik.

The funeral will be Saturday with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 15 Fallbrook St., Carbondale. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill.
