Elsie Kovatch, 94, a lifelong Jessup resident, died Thursday night in Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton. She was the wife of John Kovatch, who died Nov. 12, 1978.
Daughter of the late Elia and Santina Fischi Coccodrilli, she was educated in Jessup public schools and before her retirement, she was employed by the Baumel Dress Co. She was a 73-year faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church of Jessup and was a member of the I.L.G.W.U.
Elsie loved cooking and baking and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Surviving are her son, Bruce J. Kovatch and his wife, Ann, Honedale; two grandsons, Attorney Paul J. Kovatch and his wife, Maria, Harrisburg; and Mark Kovatch; a great-granddaughter, Devon Kovatch, Florida; nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Leon Kovatch; a grandson, David Kovatch; a brother, Edmund Coccodrilli; and three sisters, Flora Ruby, Anita Boezi and Lillian Carey.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Arthur A. Albini Funeral Home, 1003 Church St., Jessup, with services by Pastor Margaret Hartmann. Interment, Prospect Hill Cemetery, Peckville.
Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10 until service time.
