Emily Thomas Festino, 85, a lifelong resident of Old Forge, died Sunday morning at St. Joseph's Hospital, Towson, Md., after spending the past six months in the wonderful care of her daughter, Debra. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Raymond J. Festino Sr., on July 27, 2012.
Born June 28, 1928, daughter of the late David J. and Edith Watkins Thomas, she worked at Rohr Lingerie and Lease Cleaners, both of Old Forge, before retirement. A longtime member and pillar of the Nebo Congregational Church of Christ in Old Forge, her favorite hobby was sewing. A kind and caring woman, she will forever be missed by those who loved her.
She is survived by her four children, John Festino, Old Forge; Raymond J. Festino Jr., Sarasota, Fla.; Debra Zezeski and husband, Michael, Reisterstown, Md.; and Cathy Zora and husband, Faiek, Tampa, Fla.; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by siblings, John and Lewis Thomas and Elizabeth "Betty" Davis.
The funeral will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home Inc., 517 N. Main St., Old Forge, to be conducted by Pastor Wendy D'Agostino. Interment, Mountain View Cemetery, Harding.
