Esther M. Lombardo, 90, of South Scranton, died Sunday in Geisinger Community Medical Center emergency room. She was the widow of Joseph S. Lombardo, who died in 1987.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Ida Freneli Ventura. She was a member of St. Paul of the Cross Parish and attended Scranton public schools. She was a member of the After 50 Club and the Friendly Seniors.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed.
Surviving are two daughters, Susan Kujawski and husband, Walter, Hillsborough, N.J.; and Arlene Gavern and husband, George, Scranton; a son, Joseph Lombardo, Las Vegas; four grandchildren, Kristen, Kathleen, George and Donna; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lucille Golden, Michigan; nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by seven siblings.
The funeral will be Friday at 9:30 a.m. from August J. Haas Inc., 202 Pittston Ave., Scranton, with Mass at 10 in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 630 Genet St., Scranton, to be celebrated by the Rev. Scott Sterowski, pastor. Interment, Italian-American Cemetery, Minooka section of Scranton.
Friends may call Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m.
