Evelyn M. Hazlett, 98, of Endicott N.Y., died Tuesday at Willow Point Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Hazlett.
She operated a day care for many years from her home in Huntington, Long Island, then retired after several years as a machine operator from Bard Parker in Hancock, N.Y. Family members and friends will dearly miss her presence during trips to Florida, Maine and Maryland, as well as weekend camping trips, day outings and get-togethers. She often joked that her Christmas card list got smaller each year but she will certainly be remembered by all those who knew her.
She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many, and she will be forever missed by all.
She is survived by a daughter, Jeannine Barrett of Endicott; two sons, Bruce Hazlett and wife, Cindy, Nicholson, Pa.; and Frederick Hazlett and wife, Patricia, Conklin, N.Y.; 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, John Turner; and sons, Ronald and William Jr.
There will be a graveside service April 19 at 10 a.m. in Chenango Valley Cemetery led by Jeanne Randall.
