Gerald Thomas Kayatin

Gerald Thomas "Jerry" Kayatin, 68, of Jefferson Twp., died Monday at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton. He was the husband of Susan (Skibinski).

Born in Akron, Ohio, son of the late Stephen and Mary Dixon Kayatin, Jerry graduated from St. Paul's High School in Akron. He earned his Bachelor of Science in electronics engineering from Ohio State University and Devry Institute. Jerry was employed at Lockheed Martin in Archbald and served in the Army.

He enjoyed golf, bowling, hunting and was a jack of all trades and master of everything; from remodeling his home to changing engines in cars. When Jerry wasn't caring for his family, he was using his talents to help others in need. Every project that he took on was always finished to perfection.

Jerry is also survived by his two sons, Chris Williams and his wife, Marissa; and Stephen Kayatin; his grandson, Wyatt; his siblings, Carol Atkins, Kathy Kayatin, Christine Kafity and Steven Kayatin; many nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. from Brian Arthur Strauch Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 3 First St., Spring Brook Twp., with Mass of Christian Burial at 11 in the Church of St. Eulalia, 214 Blue Shutters Road, Elmhurst, to be celebrated by Monsignor John W. Jordan. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
