Helen A. Coccodrilli, 94, Jessup, died Wednesday at the Mid-Valley Hospital, Peckville. Her husband, Edmund R. Coccodrilli, died in 1973.
Born in Eynon, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Esther Antinori Giovagnoli and after the death of her father she was raised by her mother and her late husband, Rigo Vispi. She was a graduate of Jessup High School, class of 1937, and resided most of her life in Jessup. She was a member of St. Mary's Assumption Church, Queen of Angels Parish in Jessup.
Helen was a loving, caring and compassionate woman who saw only the good in everyone. Among her greatest joys were her grandsons and being "Nonni" to her great-grandchildren.
Her family would like to thank the nurses at Interim Healthcare, especially Sue and Cathy and the staff at Mid-Valley Hospital for their excellent care and genuine concern.
She is survived by a daughter with whom she resided, Charlotte Holecko and companion, Paul Krohn, Hazleton; two grandsons, Michael Holecko and wife, Rebecca, Montville, N.J.; and Jeffrey Holecko and wife, Catherine, Neenah, Wis.; three great-grandchildren, Sarah, Josie and Owen; two sisters, Margaret Cossa, Jessup; and Ann LaPenna, Bangor; a sister-in-law, Angie Giovagnoli, Jessup; nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond Giovagnoli and Harry Vispi; a sister, Evelyn Vispi; a son-in-law, Michael J. Holecko; a sister-in-law, Ceil Vispi; and two brothers-in-law, Gene Cossa and James LaPenna.
The funeral will be Monday at 8:30 a.m. from the Arthur A. Albini Funeral Home, 1003 Church St., Jessup, with Mass at 9:30 in Queen of Angels Parish at St. Michael's Church, First Avenue, Jessup. Interment, St. John's Cemetery, Jessup.
