Helen A. Dill

Helen A. Dill, 88, a lifelong resident of Olyphant, died Friday night at Regional Hospital of Scranton. Her husband, Stanley, died on April 10, 2002.

Born in Olyphant, daughter of the late Ferdinand and Maria Cerulla Santagato, she attended Olyphant High School and formerly worked at Baumel's Dress Factory, Olyphant.

Helen loved to dance. She was a compassionate person who had a very generous spirit, which was evident by the many people she helped throughout her life.

She is survived by two daughters, Rita Malesky, Olyphant; and Helen Warwick, Dunmore; five grandchildren, Johnny, Brian, Michael, Jim and Brittany; and six great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her son, Stanley John Jr., on Aug. 31, 2004; and eight siblings.

The funeral will be Thursday at 9 a.m. at the Hudak-O'Shea Funeral Home, 115 Garfield Ave., Olyphant, with Mass celebrated at 9:30 in Holy Cross Parish at St. Patrick's Church, Olyphant. Burial will take place in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Blakely.
