Helen Yarosheski, 94, Forest City, died Feb. 10 at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton. She was the widow of Norbert R. Yarosheski, who died April 21, 1972.
Born in Scranton on Feb. 13, 1919, daughter of the late Frank and Anna Melesky Vaivada, she graduated from Johnson School. She lived in Philadelphia for 30 years, raising her three sons before returning to the area in 1971 to reside in Forest City. In 2010, she became a resident of the Jewish Home of Eastern Pennsylvania.
Surviving are three sons, David and wife, Carol Krawetz Yarosheski, Clarks Summit; Paul and wife, Carol Yarosheski, Havertown; and Mark and wife, Debbie Yarosheski, Peckville; five grandchildren who she loved and adored dearly, Lauren and husband, Steve Cawley; and Paul Jr., Phillip, Alison and Emily Yarosheski; several nieces and nephews.
Helen was also preceded in death by four brothers, Kenneth, Francis, Joseph and Leonard Vaivada.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Jewish Home, especially the nurses and aides of the fifth floor, for the kindness and loving care they provided to Helen during her stay.
Services were private and entrusted to the Gubbiotti Funeral Home, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter.
