Helene C. Schild, 92, of Camp Hill, formerly of Scranton and the North Pocono region, died Tuesday morning at the Harrisburg Hospital. She was the wife of Andrew J. Schild. They were married for 25 years.
Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Frederick and Charlotte Graf Schwenker, Helene graduated from Scranton Technical High School and worked for RCA in Dunmore. She was a member of Moscow United Methodist Church for more than 30 years before moving closer to her family in Camp Hill. Helene was a ball of fire with a strong spirit. She would not hesitate to let you know exactly what she thought.
Surviving are two daughters, Nancy S. Reese and husband, Terry L., Camp Hill; and Susan J. Pope and husband, Frederick L., Lexington, Ky.; a brother, Robert Schwenker and wife, Jane, Reading; and grandchildren, Sarah E. Reese, Arlington, Va.; and Jessica R. Reese, Philadelphia.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Frederick Schwenker.
The funeral will be Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in the Brian Arthur Strauch Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 602 Birch St., Scranton, by the Rev. Jeff Levy, pastor, Moscow United Methodist Church, Interment, Dunmore Cemetery.
