Henry Dziedzic

Henry Dziedzic, 95, of Dunmore, died Thursday morning at Linwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. His wife of 66 years is the former Louise C. Canaveri.

Born in Olyphant, he was the son of the late Michael and Mary Naglac Dziedzic. He graduated from Olyphant High School, class of 1935, and was an Army veteran of World War II. Henry spent his childhood in Olyphant, moving to South Scranton then eventually settling down in Dunmore in 1962; he had remained there since. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish and the Dunmore American Legion. He worked as a meat manager at Acme Market for 42 years before retirement.

He was an extremely devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, who enjoyed Golf and Music. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Also surviving are two sons, Robert and wife, Mary Beth, Fleetwood; and Allan and wife, Deborah, Newburgh, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Stanley, Frank and Al; and one sister, Julia.

The funeral will be Monday from the Louis M. Margotta Funeral Home, 511 Church St., Jessup, with Mass at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, Dunmore.
