Henry J. Gosh Jr., 84, of Clifford Twp., died Friday at the Laurels at Mid Valley. His wife, the former Louise Tellep, died in 2008.
Born in Steven's Point, Wis., he was the son of the late Henry and Mathilda Kruzytski Gosh and stepson of the late Mary Gosh. He was educated in Wisconsin and retired from the Navy after 20 years of service. Henry served periods spanning three wars, World War II
, the Korean War
and Vietnam. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Russian Orthodox Church, Dundaff; VFW
Post 4712, Simpson; and the American Legion Post 524, Forest City. He was also a former Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 407, Pleasant Mount.
Henry is survived by a son, Michael Gosh and wife, Karen, Mayfield; a daughter, Annette and husband, Russell Bunker, Martinsburg, W.Va.; a brother, John Gosh, Steven's Point; a sister, Marge Kamenski, Sunnyvale, Calif.; two granddaughters, Nicole and Brittany Gosh; and two step-grandchildren, Jessica and Nicholas Bunker.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Frederick; and two sisters, Theresa and Caroline.
The funeral will be Tuesday with a Requiem Service at 10 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Russian Orthodox Church, Dundaff, by the Rev. Dennis Swencki. Interment with military honors in Pleasant View Cemetery, Pleasant Mount.
